Upcoming Games of 2022

This year the gaming scene has been fairly quiet when it comes to new releasing games. However, hopefully 2022 will make up for this with several triple AAA games including God of War Ragnarök, Gotham Knights, Hogwarts Legacy and much more set to be released sometime next year. Here is a rundown of some major games that may potentially be released next year if everything goes to plan.

Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights will take place in Gotham City with Batman dead the Batman Family; Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin and Red Hood will take over and protect Gotham. From battling infamous villains to solving mysteries that connect the darkest chapters in the city’s history. WB Games Montreal have confirmed several villains for the game including Mister Freeze, Penguin and the Court of Owls. From the trailer released on October 16th it appears the Court of Owls will appear as the major villain in Gotham Knights. The Court of Owls had long thought to be a legend in Gotham City and just a conspiracy theory. Being made up of some of Gotham’s wealthiest and most well-connected families. They used their power and influence for centuries to control Gotham city in the shadows and wield a political influence throughout history. They achieved this with the aid of highly trained assassins called Talons to achieve their wicked goals.

It will be an open-world, action RPG and can be played in either offline single-player mode or two-player online co-op. It’s set to be released in 2022 with rumours suggesting it will be released around springtime. It will be available on the PS4,PS5,Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.

God of War Ragnarok – The Next Step in Kratos’ Story.

God of War Ragnarök

God of war was released back in 2018 on April 20th.It took a different route from the original 3 God of war games focusing on Norse Mythology rather than Greek Mythology. God of War Ragnarök will carry on with this Norse mythology storyline delving even deeper into Norse Mythology as Kratos and an older Atreus are desperately trying to stop Ragnarök (the end of the world). In the previous God of War, Kratos and Atreus made and killed many enemies such as Baldur son of Freya and Odin. Freya has been revealed in the trailer attacking Kratos in an attempt to murder her son’s killer.  Furthermore, we can confidently say Thor will appear in God of War Ragnarök appearing in the previous instalment during the post credits looking for revenge for the death of his sons Magni, Modi and his half-brother Baldur. Thor’s blood lust and wrath will be aimed towards Kratos and Atreus.

The Axe wielding Kratos is set to return to the gaming scene in 2022 it will be available on both the PS4 and PS5 however it is a PlayStation exclusive making it unavailable on any other platform. The game was supposed to have been released in 2021 however the game’s release window was shifted from 2021 to 2022.

Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy will be an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the same world as the Harry Potter Books. Players will be able to experience Hogwarts in the 1800s nearly 200 years before Harry Potter began Hogwarts. Not much is known about the story except that your character created holds the key to an ancient secret, your character possesses an unusual ability to perceive and master Ancient Magic.

Players will be able to embark on their own journey through familiar and brand-new locations including Hogsmeade and the Forbidden Forest allowing them to explore and discover new beasts, customize their characters, craft potions, master spell casting and much more. J.K Rowling isn’t directly involved with the game, but it’s mentioned that her brilliant writing is the foundation for all projects in the Wizarding World.

The game is set to release in 2022 and a Nvidia GeForce Now database leak reveals the release date of Hogwarts legacy which is allegedly set to release on March 8th, 2022.The game will be available across multiple platforms including the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC.
