This is the latest Coronavirus infection rates across Greater Manchester

Coronavirus cases in Greater Manchester are slowly beginning to drop. However, hundreds of people are still getting the virus.

Covid-19 cases appear to beg to balance off in Manchester, Tameside, and Bolton. However, many areas in Greater Manchester have recorded their highest infection rate yet.

There have been 935 cases of the virus across Greater Manchester in the week ending October 6.

The infections remain high in Greater Manchester, which is still one of the largest Covid-19 hotspots in England.

The city’s infection rate stands at 524.8 per 100,000 people in the week ending on October 6. This is according to the latest figures published by Public Health England (PHE).

The national average of England’s infection rate is 135.5.

Cases are rising fastest in Trafford. Where the infection rate is currently 325.2 and cases are nearly doubling every week.

Cases are further rising quickly in Stockport.  Where the cases are up 82 percent. Rochdale cases are also up 75 percent.

Wigan has statistically recorded more than 1000 cases in a week for the first time. The infection rate has increased over 300, standing at 312.5 cases per 100,000 people in the week up to October 6.

Bury has now got an infection rate of 314.1 and has had 600 cases in a week for the first time. However, the numbers do not appear to be climbing quickly as Bolton.

There have been much more testing of Covid-19 since the start of the first wave. Where only people in hospitals were being tested for the virus.

Across the whole region, 13 more people have died because of testing positive to Covid-19. The region’s hospital death toll has now reached 2242 deaths.
