Sepp Blatter Re-Elected as FIFA President

Controversially, Joseph ‘Sepp’ Blatter has been re-elected as the president of FIFA. FIFA President, Sepp Blatter said in his own words “I’m here, with you and I simply would like to stay here with you”. Blatter has been re-elected mostly because of widespread support in Asia and Africa, this is because Africa won it’s first World Cup hosting bid for South Africa under Blatter’s presidency. This all comes at a time of huge controversy as several FIFA officials are being investigated and possibly face extradition to the US on fraud charges because of corruption in FIFA which has been made more apparent since Quatar and Russia; two very wealthy and oil rich countries won World Cup hosting bids over far more suitable countries because of the temparature and lack of football stadiums in Quatar, such as England. The next FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia in 2018. FIFA’s reputation is currently in ruins, hopefully this will all be resolved for both fans and teams alike.
