Portugal Bans Bosses Contacting Employees After Work Hours

Portugal has made it illegal for bosses to contact employees after work hours. They did this to allow people to maintain the healthy lifestyle between work and the personal life of these employees. This means that bosses can face jail time if they attempt to contact employees after work hours as it is only legal to contact them during work hours.

This is very efficient as in Portugal there are many people that make minimum wage causing them to work late hours. This helps people maintain mental health as they would not only be physically but mentally fatigued as they wouldn’t over work themselves. This also allows people to take more time to themselves and sort out their personal life.

However, in a case where there is tight deadline in work, bosses can’t keep contact with the employees to keep them up to date with their deadline and their work. This can make it hard for the employees to finish their work without being in contact with their bosses to get feedback on it.
