Teacher Injured in Tragic Events
Police in Bradford have revealed that a Science teacher – Vincent Uzomah – in a Bradford school named Dixons Kings Academy has been stabbed as he taught one of his science lessons. It has been said that police are searching for a 14-year-old boy who is the lead suspect in the incident.
The male teacher was taken to hospital and is being described as being in a stable condition following the “very serious incident”, as the police released the statement announcing the 50-year-old teacher suffered a single stab wound to the body. Police were called to the school around 8:55am on a Thursday morning to Dixons Kings Academy in Bradford.
The boy in question is being described as Asian, with short dark hair, and was last seen wearing a uniform blazer which is blue.
The business manager of the school, Shasta Ali, has told The Independent that the academy was “currently assisting police with their inquiries”. She then declined further comments.
The school is continuing to operate and has reported that “There is currently no ongoing risk to pupils or staff at the school”, Police Officers and Safer Schools Officers are on site to support staff and students.
There was a similar incident to this less than 20 miles from a school in Leeds where a 61-year-old teacher, Ann Maguire was stabbed to death by a 15-year-old pupil named, Will Cornick.
