Local Mum Hits Out At School
A local mum has hit out at her daughter’s school for denying her the chance to star in a TV show, this is due to teachers not allowing her the time of school.
Catheryne Berry claims her daughter Darcey Hutton who is at the age of 13, is being denied the chance to work as an extra because of staff at Walkden High School refusing permission to miss her lessons. Catheryn’s daughter who is a Year 9 pupil, had been pursuing a modelling career for two years and has already appeared in a numerous amount of television programmes for kids. The modelling agency Darcey currently works for has locked down the chance for her to star in the 4 O’clock Club on CBBC as an extra, in which she would need 10 days of school.
Authorisation would be needed as there is a license Walkden High School has to sign for the Salford Council.
According to the mother of Darcey, the school refused to sign this license, because the young student’s attendance is already below 95 percent.
