Liverpool FC 2014-15 Review

Start of the season

Liverpool had a very important job to do at the start of the season which was to replace their prolific striker in Luis Suarez after he joined FC Barcelona for a fee of around 65 million. With the money they had spent they had bought mostly young talent with the money. Liverpool amazing 2013-2014 finish impressed fans and believed they could achieve top 4 successfully again and gain Champions league qualification. After 8 games Liverpool were disappointed with playing 8 games and only getting 12 points and Liverpool were sitting in 8th place was not the start they had wanted especially through the injury off Daniel Sturridge.

Mid Seaosn

Liverpool turned there season around mid season and went on an unbeaten run of 12 Games and suddenly brought them into 5th place and the real push for champions league football next season was on and with the return of Daniel Sturridge this was certainly exiting.

End of season

Liverpool had a dreadful part to the end of the season Daniel Sturridge after being back for 4 games got injured again and had to see a specilaised in America to try solve his injury to his Thigh. Liverpool then dident pick up a win there last 4 games losing 2 and drawing 2. Liverpools season ended even worse with Gerrard announcing he is leaving to the MLS to join LA galaxy and now Liverpool have re-building to do.

Signings Overview

Emre Can- played as a Centre back for most of the season even though his Natrual position is Central Midfield he struggled at the start but got better over time but I think he will be hoping to play more games next season in midfield.

Balloteli- Struggled first season a lot of fans criticed him saying he dident try, Balloteli who is a striker scored only 4 goals in 19 apperances in his first year and I think he will be believing he can do better

Lallana- Liverpools 3rd top scorer but was also injured for most of the season had a pretty good season  the mdifleder will be hoping he can stay Injury free for the new coming season

Markovic- He hasn’t played a lot of football and is a natural winger but was being played right back and hasn’t at all adapted to that position he has struggled but he will be hoping the in coming season he can have a proper go at being a winger for Liverpool football club even if that means going out on loan for a few months.

Lambert- A very old player at 32 he was in the Liverpool academy at the start and had an amazing journey, being released from Liverpool then joining a non league team to then going to play in every division in English football and now is at the club he loves Liverpool, Fans expected him too be a backup striker but due to the form of Balloteli this made him a first team starter but Lambert soon realised he didn’t fit in the style of Liverpool and soon enough was dropped as well

Moreno- Struggled first season at Liverpool since he is a very attack minded full back who sometimes got caught out on breaks and it has costed Liverpool a lot of goals. he had a bright start but then was eventually dropped from the starting 11.

Lovren- Really Struggled at Liverpool first season he was making a lot of defensive mistakes and costed them dearly but wasn’t dropped as much as other signings he will be hoping to improve next season and with him being a young player he most likely will
