Earlier this month Vodafone told some of their employees that on September 25th the next iPhone handset is to be released. Also a email was sent which was seen by Mobile News here, this email outlined the pre-launch information, being when Vodafone will take pre-orders for this new iPhone 6s, which will be from September 18th.
Although the email did not refer to it as the “iPhone 6s”, but instead as “New iPhone”, it also did not state a secondary device either (the rumored iPhone 6s Plus), but is still expected to be released at the same time as the iPhone 6s (which could be called the iPhone 7, but there is no definitive proof of either). KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo also suggests that there could be a rose gold edition of the new iPhone s and variants (iPhone 6s Plus)
This new device is rumored to have a extremely improved camera, which according to blogger John Gruber, who says it will be a “weird two-lens system where the back camera uses two lenses and it somehow takes it up into DSLR quality imagery”.
Another rumored (and quite likely) feature is wireless charging, for the Apple Watch it has already been announced, and is likely to introduced to the phones as well.
For the screen Sapphire glass is rumored to be used (which is a scratch resistant material), although it has been reported that there was manufacturing problems, but is still another likely feature.
The processor could potentially be the new A9 chip which is produced by Samsung, this will be much smaller than the A8 chip which was 20nm where as this new A9 chip will be 14nm, but it will also use less power and be more powerful than its predecessor.
The Force Touch and Taptic Engine from the new Apple Watch and MacBook are also rumored to be making an appearance on the new iPhone 6s as well, giving users new ways of interacting with their handset.
