GIF File:

The GIF file is used on the internet, this is because of the size of the file; this is because of the low file size. This is so that the public can download the file easily even if their internet is slow. The GIF file can create an animation due to its multiple layers; GIF files are mainly popular on the website Tumblr. My-second-GIF-

Advantages: The GIF file contains multiple layers, each layer being a part of what brought the image or animation together. The file has a low file size which means more space.

The disadvantages to the GIF file is the poor quality in the image and animation, the picture can often be pixelated and not in a HD quality.

The image to the side is a GIF file of The Joker.

PNG File:

A PNG file is very similar to a GIF file, like a GIF file a PNG can create an animation, it contains multiple layers. The quality on a PNG file is lot better than an GIF fileHarley Qui.

Advantages: The PNG file contains multiple layers from editing the image; each layer brings the image or animation together. The quality in a PNG file is  a lot better than a GIF file, the image won’t be pixelated, but instead be clear and have a HD quality.

Disadvantages: The colour on a PNG file is affected when saved. And animation isn’t strong or full supported unlike the GIF file.

The image to the side is a double exposure image that I saved as a PNG file due to it having a transparent background. It is a double face exposure of DC Comic’s Harley Quinn and The Joker.

JPEG File:

JPEG is made up of a single layer, this file is used on the Internet, when an edited image is saved as a JPEG all of the layers that were created during editing will be merged together creating one layer, once this has been saves there can be no editing done to any of the layers that are now merged together. Photographers use JPEG files to print and publish their work. Manchester Picture JPEG example
