A Review of Comedown Machine by The Strokes

Comedown Machine released in 2013 is the most recent album by The Strokes, a band from New York fronted by the excellent, Julian Casablancas. The Strokes formed in 1998 and have had quality, best-selling albums multiple times over the years. They have some great tunes including: “Reptilia”, “You Only Live Once”, “Last Nite” and countless more, they’ve blew up parties, filled dance floors and blown people’s minds and Comedown Machine doesn’t disappoint.

Comedown Machine’s Track List:

  1. Tap Out
  2. All the Time
  3. One Way Trigger
  4. Welcome to Japan
  5. 80’s Comedown Machine
  6. 50/50
  7. Slow Animals
  8. Partners in Crime
  9. Chances
  10. Happy Ending
  11. Call It Fate, Call It Karma

They all bring new sounds from the band, increasing their ever growing fan base around the world. My personal favourite song from Comedown Machine is “One Way Trigger”. This brings a melodic guitar and calm, happy vocals. I still enjoy other older songs like “Reptilia” and “You Only Live Once”; however this brings something new from the band. Overall I’d rate this album 8/10 due to its various different sounds that it has brought out of the band.
