AM is the newest album released in 2013 by the Arctic Monkeys. And it was recently performed at Glastonbury’s headline slot in 2013; which was the bands second appearance on the pyramid stage. The Arctic Monkeys, fronted by Alex Turner blew the crowd away with famous hits such as “Fluorescent Adolescent” and “When the Sun Goes Down”. The Encore consisted of other crowd favourites including “Mardy Bum” and a rare performance of “505” with Miles Kane. Alex Turner also impressed the crowd and his mum by singing Happy Birthday to her in front of thousands of people in Glastonbury and millions around the world. The full set list can be viewed below.
As AM was recently released not long prior to their Glastonbury performance several songs were debuted in the UK for the first time, including “Do I Wanna Know?”, “R U Mine?”, and “Mad Sounds”.

My favourite song personally from the album is “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?” because it gives a new edge to the band and it brings a melodic vibe with great vocals all round. The video is also great as it provides a warped view of Alex Turner on a night out on the town and it comes with lots of warped views on his journey home including lots of sexual scenes as that is what his brain is projecting to him while he’s on drugs and seeing all of these things in his head as a girl he’s talking to has him saved as “Alex Band Guy” on her phone, which shows she’s probably not that into him. And she ignores his many messages. Overall I’d rate this album 7/10 as I prefer the older stuff by the Arctic Monkeys.
